Activities[2021-2022]

• In connection with 122 nd Birth Anniversary of Renowned Romantic Poet Sumitranandan Pant on 20.05.2022 Department of Languages is Organizing Hindi Poetry Writing competition for students of SNGC.
  

• Literary Club & Department Of Languages conducted KAVI ARANGU(13.05.2022) inTamil, Hindi, Malayalam in which a total of 60 students participated.
  

• In Connection with World Book Day (23.04.2022) Literary Club conducted an Essay Writing Competition in Tamil,Hindi, Malayalam & English in which a total of 44 students participated .
  

• In Connection with 150th Birthday of Mahakavi Kumaranasan(12.04.2022) Department Of Languages conducted a Poetry Writing Competition in Malayalam in which a total of 35 students participated .
  

• Department of Languages conducted a guest lecture in Hindi on 30.03.2022. Dr. R.Ramesh Kumar Associate Professor & Head Department of Languages, Hindustan College of Arts & Science deliverd a speech on the topic “Zamane ko dikhana hai”. The speaker emphasised on how to develop decision making power and self confidence amongst students.
  
  

• Department of Languages conducted a guest lecture in Malayalam on 01.04.2022. Dr.M.Ilangovan Principal, presided over the function. Dr.Smitha C.R Assistant Professor, Department of Languages, Hindustan Arts & Science College delivered a speech on the Topic “ SAHITHYATHIL PURANAKADHAVISHKKARAM’. The speaker emphasized the great values of “RAMAYANA & MAHABHARATHA” characteristics which inspired us to lead our life in a goodwill.
  
  

• Department of Languages, Pavendhar Tamil Ilakkiya Mandram organized a webinar on “Vaanam Vasappadum” on Monday, 31.01.2022 at 11:00am through Google Meet. The Resource Person of the day was Dr. C.J.Precilla Sagayamary, Head, Department of Tamil, Dr. SNS Rajalakshmi Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. During this session, She explained about wellness of self which works along with our surroundings. She also emphasized on efforts, self confidence, humor sense and positive thinking will boost us. She adviced the younger generation about famous personalities who succeeded in their life after few failures so failure is a stepping stone for success.

The speaker emphasised the literary Work of Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer. The speech was very informative and worth listening.
  
  

• Sree Narayana Guru College Department of Languages (Hindi) organized a webinar on 29/01/2022, 10 am through Google Meet. The topic of the speech was “Adhunik Kahanikar Uday Prakash” delivered by Rekha. R.S, Assistant professor Department of Hindi, Providence College for Women Coonoor. In this speaker emphasised the modern Hindi writer Uday Prakash’s Sahitya Academy award story “Mohandas “.
  In this story speaker narrated the problems related social, economical and political situations of present society.
  
  

• Sree Narayana Guru College Department of Languages (Tamil) organized a webinar on 24/01 /2022. The topic of the speech was “Tamizhar Panpadu” delivered by Dr.P.Anuradha, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, KPR College of Arts Science Research,Arasur, Coimbatore 641407. The speaker Clearly explained about the Cultural Elements like love, bravery, friendship, devotion, hospitality, affection, education. Also She emphasized about the importance of Postive thinking and approach. .The speech was very informative and worth listening.
  

• In Connection with 139 Birthday of great Tamil Poet Mahakavi Bharathiar , Sree Narayana Guru College Department ofLanguages ( Tamil) organized a webinar on 11/12 /2021. The topic of the speech was “Chinthanai Sudar – Bharathi “delivered by Dr.Semala Vasantha, Assistant Professor, Tamil Department ,Dr.S.N.S Rajalakshmi Arts & Science College, Coimbatore. Dr. M. Ilangovan, Principal presided over the Webinar in which there were around Sixty participants. The speaker emphasised the importance of education, importance of Mother tongue, Women’s slavery, confidence, Mother hood, Love, Education,Feminism and Patriotism in her speech. When we go through the poems of great Poet Bharathiar, We feel the Spirit of freedom. The Speciality of Bharathiar’s Poem’s are the Spirit of Self confidence and feeling of Courage.The speech was very informative and worth listening.
  

• As part of the Extension Activity, the Department of Languages of Sree Narayana Guru College organized an Awareness Talk on, “KALVIYIN MUKKIYATHUVAM” in connection with the National Education Day on 29.11.2021 at Government High School, K.G.Chavadi, Coimbatore. Mrs.J.Jakkirunnisa Begam, Head Mistress, G.H.School, presided over the programme. Dr.M.P.Pavithra, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Languages coordinated the programme. Dr.T.Dharmarajan, Associate Professor in Tamil, delivered an Awareness Talk on Kalviyin Mukkiyathuvam. In his address, he enlightened the importance of education and motivated the students to build the nation through education.
  

• Department of Languages( Malayalam) organized a Webinar on 1.11. 2021 the topic of the speech was ”Madhuram Malayalam” delivered by Dr G Sujatha bhai, Head& Associate Professor, Department of Languages , CMS College ,Coimbatore. Dr .M.Ilangovan , Principal presided over the Webinar in which there were around 80 participants.The speaker emphasised the importance of Mother tongue .The speech was very informative and worth listening

Selvaraj, Assistant professor in Hindi, Department of Languages, Dr.G.R.D.College Coimbatore. In this speech the speaker emphasised the life philosophy of great Hindi poet Kabeer. Specifically he said we all have to have a self realization in our life for which he narrated the poems and Dohas. The speech was very informative and worth listening.
  
  

• In connection with Nine Day Commemorative Lecture Series organised by our College, Sree Narayana Guru College, Department of Languages (Tamil) organized a webinar on 27/08 /2021. The topic of the day was “Puratchi Thuravigal” delivered by Dr. M.Mathiyazhagan,
  Head, PG & Research Department of Tamil, Government Arts College, Udumalpet – 642126. Dr. M. Ilangovan, Principal of SNGC, presided over the Webinar in which there were around hundred number of participants. The speaker spoken about the Tamil Poet Vallalar and Saint Sree Narayana Guru. Both of them are revolutionary writers and have same level of Philosophical Vision. Both of them were against Varnashrama dharma. People of that period were highly inspired and impressed by the Philosophies of both Vallalar and Sree Narayana Guru.The speech was very informative and worth listening.

The topic of the speech was “Basheer rachanekalile swathavishkaram” delivered by Dr.G.Sujathabai, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Languages in CMS College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. Speaker explained about the simple literary language of Basheer and his characters, which were the people around him
  

• The department of Languages Pavendhar Tamil Ilakkiya mandram organized a Tamil webinar on 18.06.2021 the topic of the speech was ” Ilakkiyam Muthal Imayam varai” delivered by Dr M.Mythily Assistant professor in Tamil Sri Krishna Adhithya arts and science college Coimbatore. The speaker explained about the lifestyle of kadaiyezhu vallalgal.she also specified about the Ramayanam Mahabaratham Thirukkural stories and also speak about Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam dream words and lifestyle.
  

• The department of Languages organized a Tamil webinar on 17.06.2021 the topic of the speech was “SangaTamil Manbum Ilakkiya Vazhkkaiyum” delivered by Dr P.Anuradha Assistant professor in Tamil,KPR Arts and science college Coimbatore explained about lifestyle of kings and their virtuous governance of the public during the Sangam period while illuminating the themes of friendship, love, Devotion, humanity and courage prevelant in the literature and lifestyle of the people during the Sangam period. Dr Anuradha encouraged the participants to derive motivation from and follow the highly moral and ethical lifestyle during the Sangam times.

• Sree Narayana Guru College, Department of Languages (Hindi) organized webinar on “Nari Chetana” on 23 /03 /2021 Tuesday 10.30am Via Google Meet. Dr. N. Selvaraj, Assistant professor in Hindi, Dr. G. R. D. College, coimbatore performed as main speaker. Dr. M. Ilangovan principal, presides over the webinar in which there were 50 participants the speaker emphasised on the importance of women conscious in Hindi Literature and connected with the famous Hindi writer Mahadevi Varmas’ Book ” Shrinkala ki kadiyon mein Nari.
  

• Department of Languages organised a webinar on 22. 3. 2021 the topic of the the speech was “Sahithyam Enna vismayam” delivered by Dr.U.Jayaprakash Viswanathan, Retired Principal ,N.S.S. College. Ottapalam. Dr.M.Ilangovan principal,presided over the webinar in which there were 50 participants the speaker explained about the features and uses of literature . He also specified that the literary work will give mindfulness to the writer and reader.
  

• Department of Languages organised a webinar on 19. 3. 2021 the topic of the the speech was “Vetri Nam Pakkam” delivered by Dr.D Viswanathan,Head. Department of Languages. Sri Ramakrishna Arts and science College. Coimbatore. Dr.M.Ilangovan principal,presided over the webinar in which there were 50 participants the speaker explained about the lifestyle of the kings and public at the world. He also specified about the the motivation stories and lines especially about students achievements.
  

• The Department of Languages organised a Webinar on the 7th Day of SreeNarayana Guru Endowment Lecture Series on 17.02.2021. The Topic of the Speech was“ Ilakkiyathil Thamizhar Panbaadu” delivered by A.Sumathi , Assistant Professor in Tamil, Sree Krishna Adithya Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. The speaker explained about the life style of the Kings and Public at the Sangha period . She also specified about the Tamil Culture especially about Hospitality, Respect towards Guru, Education, Discipline & Humenty.
  

• The Department of Languages had organised a webinar on the Fourth day (VII Session) of Sree Narayana Guru Endowment Lecture Series on 14.02.2021. The topic of the speech was “samyagdarsanathinteasadaranathwam,” delivered by Dr.P Murali,Retd. Principal,Govt Victoria collage,Palakkad. Dr. M. Ilangovan, Principal, presided over the webinar in which there were 53 participants. The speaker explained the significance of SreeNarayana Guru’s works in the society and his contributions to society as a social reformer.

• Department of Languages (Hindi) SNGC Coimbatore organized a webinar on “Sahithya ki Jivanonmukhtha” on 25/7/2020 Saturday 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM, Via Google Meet. Dr V Padmavathi, Head, Department of Hindi,PSGR krishnammal college for Women, performed as main speaker. She emphasised on the importance of literature learning and how literature is related to human life and society. More than100 people registered for the program and 100 were able to participate. Students , faculty members, research scholars were benifed through the program.
